Introduction

Introduction to the labs

Each Canvas module is a lab.  There is a pdf file at the beginning of the module that contains the main instructions.  Print it out and use it as the cover sheet on the write-up you turn in.  There is not room on the pdf instruction sheet for you to record your data, analysis, or conclusions.  You should write your data, analysis, and conclusions on a separate paper and staple it to the pdf cover sheet.

Narrate your procedure.  Your write-up should contain many sentences, not just tables of data and graphs (although those are fantastic ways to display data).  Write for an audience of intelligent college students who have some physics background, but were not present when you did the experiment.  Your write-ups will be graded heavily on the clarity of your communication.

The other links are additional helpful information, pictures, and web sites.  Please read enough of them before lab time to get an introduction to the concepts.

The lab write-up is due at 11:30 the Friday after you do the lab (the Astronomy lab may be an exception).
