This class educates Snow College students on the importance and value of life long wellness. Obesity and related diseases are at an all-time high in the United States and the methods taught in this course give students tools to live a healthy life.

Physical Education is a discipline which emphasizes healthy lifestyles through both physical and mental contexts.  This learning focuses on developing an understanding of how living a sustained healthy lifestyle will increase quality of life in the short and long term, both mentally and physically.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1)  Define what it means to be fit and lead a healthy lifestyle.

4)  Understand how to implement fitness, dietary, and mental health changes to improve fitness and wellness.

Students will have the opportunity to analyze their daily habits and understand the repercussions certain activities and/or food are having on their overall health.  Through personal fitness goals set at the beginning of each semester, they will be able to track their progress and better understand how they can make the necessary changes to lead a more healthy life.  They will demonstrate this through personal journal keeping, class assignments, group projects, physical activities, quizzes and physical tests.
