Age Discrimination

There are two Age Discrimination laws that are relevant at Tacoma Community College

The Age Discrimination Act of 1975 prohibits discrimination on the basis of age with respect to students. The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (1967) covers age discrimination for employees.

The Age Discrimination Act states that "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of age, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity..."

As with the other anti-discrimination laws, any program" includes all of the activities that Tacoma Community College conducts, such as teaching and learning, employment, training, student programs, and access to educational resources.
