Welcome to the Snow College Library Orientation. In this orientation, you will learn the purpose of an academic library and how it can help you be a successful student at Snow College and beyond. Start the orientation by watching the two videos below, then, read through each service that the Snow College libraries offers to help you be a successful student. After you read through the material and watch the videos, you will take a quiz to check your understanding.

Accessing the Library Website from Canvas
In every Snow College Canvas course, you will find a library button on the top right-hand side of your canvas course. The button is linked directly to the library website. The library website and all the resources on the library website are available 24/7, year-round anywhere you have an internet connection. The library button looks similar to the orange image below (go ahead and try it, the button below is already linked to the library):

The search box on the library homepage searches most of our databases for articles, books, e-books, streaming videos and more all at one time.
You can access the search box and other Snow College online resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week anywhere Links to an external site. you have internet access.

Course Reserve items at the Library (on-campus students)
Your professor may tell you that the library has certain items on reserve for you to read or use as part of your required or extra credit assignments. These items can be picked up at the main library desk of the campus you are attending. At both campuses the main library desk is just inside the main area of the library. When you come to use a course reserve item, be sure to bring your Snow College ID so you can check out the item you need. Most course reserve items can only be used in the library, but, some can be checked out of the library. Interlibrary Loan
If you would like a book or article that is not available at our library, in our databases or through online resources like Google Scholar, you can request it through Interlibrary loan Links to an external site. and we will borrow it from another library for you for free. If it is a digital article we will send it to you via email for free. Interlibrary loan is often called ILL. For more information on ILL, visit our ILL library page Links to an external site..
Off Campus Access
When accessing our online resources from off campus, you will be prompted to supply your Badger User Name and password after you perform your search. For additional assistance logging on from off campus, please refer to this "Access Anywhere" page Links to an external site..
Study Rooms
The library has study rooms and open study space available for students. Study rooms and open study areas do not need to be reserved.
