"Becoming a Learner, Becoming a Badger" Supplemental Content: Actionable Steps

Actionable Steps:

  1. Make a list of skills that you believe will be necessary for you to succeed in your career. Are those skills the same or different than those that you would need to succeed outside of your career?
  2. Write your own life narrative that recounts important learning moments that have shaped you into the person you are today.
  3. In a journal, reflection paper, or class discussion, identify a problem you are facing (small or large). Knowing that problems are not always easily solved in a short period of time, brainstorm ways in which different disciplines could work together to help you address the problem. Are there "disciplines" found outside of Snow College that could be helpful as well?
  4. Find a newspaper online and identify a problem described in an article. Brainstorm interdisciplinary approaches that could be used to understand, respond to, or solve the problem. Consider if or how the interdisciplinary approach will be more useful than a solution from a single discipline.
