Dr. Craig Ferrin holds degrees in music education from the University of Utah and Northwestern University. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Learning Technology and Instructional Design at Utah State University.

Dr. Craig Ferrin After twelve years of exemplary performance at Hunter High School, he joined the faculty of Salt Lake Community College in 2002 where he continues to serve as a Professor in the Performing Arts Department. He currently teaches Modern Music Ensembles, Introduction to the Music Industry, Money and Creative Professionals and several Introduction to Music courses online. He also teaches online courses at Snow College.

He currently conducts the Murray Concert Band and performs regularly with the CityJazz and Phoenix big bands in Salt Lake City. In his early career he performed with the McDonald’s All-American High School Band the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics All-American College Band.

Dr. Ferrin has served on the Faculty Senate, and has served as chair of the Distance Education Committee and chair Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee. Currently he is President of the SLCC Faculty Association.

I love to go to Yellowstone. We all love to rent a cabin in Island Park or Jackson and tour Yellowstone from there. I spend most of my time playing trumpet and conducting bands, orchestras and Broadway productions.
