Discuss some of the important contributions to ballet by some “Major Figures in Ballet”. Do an internet search on THREE CURRENT (1900-present) major figures in ballet (do not research Louis XIV, he is not current) to find more information regarding their role in ballet. List their name, date of birth and list their death if possible, what was significant about them, what did they contribute to Ballet and Ballets they choreographed and/or performed in (you do not need to list every single ballet, only most significant ballets).
Example:
Louis XIV (1638-1715): He played his favorite roll as the god Apollo or Sun King in Ballet de Nuit (1653). He used dance a political tool that also depicted Louis as the human embodiment of the brilliance and splendor of France. He was the "center of the universe," when he played the Sun King (tying into the idea that the sun was the center of the universe by Galileo) and head of the church. His birthday was celebrated by the Ballet Dela fe Licite (1639) He made his debut in Ballet de Cassandra (1651).
