Read pages 222-223 in Invitation to the Lifespan 3rd ed.  Answer the following questions in 7 sentences or more:

1.  What is the difference between punishment and discipline?

2.  Is there anything RIGHT with spanking?

3.  Is there anything WRONG with spanking?

4.  Is it important to explain to children what the misbehavior was?  Why or why not?

5.  Read on in the chapter.  What other type of discipline would you most likely choose in parenting?  Explain why you would choose this instead of spanking.
