Before you do any of the following, stop by my office to chat about topics you are considering. Some sample ideas can be found here, but don't feel bound by the list.
Submit a proposal which first states the question you want to answer, second, says why you are interested in the topic and how it pertains to our class, and third, gives a brief outline of your paper (using typical outline format as in this example Links to an external site.).
In other words, write a narrative paragraph about what led you to choose your particular topic, and another paragraph about how it relates to our course.
Then you must do a bit of preliminary research to gauge the scope and viability of your topic. Will it make a good project?
Then make an outline of how you think the paper/project will flow. What will be your main points? Anticipated conclusion?
Including the outline, it should be about a page or page and a half long. This is due by class on Sept 30; please submit online.
Yours does NOT need to be as long or involved as is suggested here Links to an external site., but the link will give you an idea of what is expected for a thesis proposal in graduate school.
